About
I am a roboticist, engineer, and educator. I'm interested in understanding the relationship between designs and the process of building them. To this end, I build intelligent robot systems to enable us to simulate, quantify, and augment the design and construction processes.
Most of my work integrates automated planning, physics simulation, and computational design to facilitate a forward-backward loop between design and robotic construction. In the forward direction, I leverage planning algorithms to enable robots to autonomously build architectural structures across scales. In the opposite direction, I utilize insights gained from the planning and execution processes to inform and enhance design methodologies.
I am a Junior Group Leader (Oberassistent) at ETH Zurich’s Computational Robotics Lab, supported by the SNSF Ambizione program. I earned my PhD in Building Technology at MIT, advised by Prof. Caitlin Mueller, and my Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from the University of Science and Technology of China. My research has been supported the MIT Presidential Fellowship and the ETH Zurich Postdoctoral Fellowship.
I am currently on the faculty job market for 2025–26 - please feel free to reach out!
